Hi, I am Joanne Yeung - an environmental engineer, data-driven sustainability consultant, and a mother returning to full-time work after extended break to take care for my young children.

This signifies the start of a new chapter — one that weaves together my professional journey through sustainability consulting, academic research, and now, the launch of Ginci Inno, a platform focusing on building resilience through science, systems thinking, and integrity.

Ginci (堅持) means perseverance in Cantonese. It’s a word that has grounded me in both personal and professional seasons — through late nights analyzing experimental, environmental and socio-economic data, advising clients on sustainability strategy and implementation, and navigating the beautiful chaos of early motherhood. To me, Ginci captures what this moment calls for: grit, compassion, and long-term thinking in the face of climate change.

Why now

After years working at the intersection of science, policy, and business — and taking a step back to grow my family — I’m returning with a renewed focus. The world has changed rapidly, and so have the tools and frameworks we have to tackle climate risks. But what hasn't changed is the need for thoughtful, evidence-based, and collaborative approaches.

I started Ginci Inno because I believe that resilience is not just a buzzword — it's a systems design principle. We need integrated strategies that make sense at local scales and global levels. And we need more voices — scientists, policymakers, practitioners and citizens — to shape the future of climate response.

What is this about?

This space is for professionals, policymakers, researchers, and curious readers navigating the urgent and evolving world of climate resilience and sustainability. You'll find thoughtful reflections and practical insights on:

  • Climate-water-energy nexus and why it matters

  • Nature-based solutions to climate adaptation

  • Data-informed climate risk analytics and decision-making

  • Emerging climate technology

  • Carbon policy tools and decarbonization strategies

  • Stories and strategies from both consulting and academic lenses

Whether you're shaping corporate ESG goals, developing investment strategy, formulating government policy, or looking for grounded, cross-disciplinary climate analysis — Ginci Insights is for you.

I can’t wait to grow this journey with you.

With perseverance,

Joanne Yeung
